Conference Program Managers

CBI is looking to hire Program Managers to create and manage a minimum of 10 conferences per year. You will identify and research leading edge, business-to-business, commercial issues and develop strategic agendas for targeted audiences; recruit high-level speakers, negotiate deals and synthesize content while leading a cross-functional team.
In this key role, you will conduct extensive primary market research, determine commercial viability of projects, analyze and organize complex information to commercial programs, write comprehensive market-driven outlines that will become the guidelines for conferences to go to market and acquire competitive lists that are in the public domain. You must be able to work within tight production deadlines and meet company standards and benchmarks for quality.
The ideal candidate will have a college degree in journalism, business or management and a minimum of 2-5 years of business experience is strongly preferred. This fast paced position is perfect for a determined professional who is both analytical and sales oriented and can meet goals with multiple projects. Travel to events is required.

Business Development Manager

Marketing Database Analyst
CBI is adding a Marketing Database Analyst to growing our team. In this important role, you will manage our database according to quality standards. You will spearhead initiatives to grow the database and improve database performance by analyzing promotional campaigns and resulting audience development. You will recommend changes to our database in support of our business and marketing initiatives by identifying potential gaps or inconsistencies in database standards and proactively recommend changes based upon metrics/trending data. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will work closely with both our marketing and information technology teams to ensure that the database requirements and marketing efficiencies are being met. You must be able to work within tight production deadlines and project-based cross functional teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Learning the intricacies of a proprietary relational database
- Developing and enforcing standard operating procedures for researching, collecting and entering customer and prospect information. Specifically, you will develop methods for categorizing and ranking data to ensure consistent coding of records resulting in more robust marketing campaigns
- Overseeing routine maintenance programs and outsourcing initiatives: (NCOA, SIC/Function Coding etc.) and assisting in the import of quality electronic data from outsourced vendors
- Managing in-house personnel involved in research of data and data entry: managing work assignments, providing guidance, evaluating results against industry standards, resolving problems arising from ambiguity of data and revising policies and procedures as needed. You will also be responsible for ensuring ongoing re-training for the department, conducting evaluation performances and hiring/outsourcing as needed.
- Analyzing promotional marketing plans and recommending more effective ways to query/utilize the database for greater ROI
- Driving initiatives to better qualify prospects upfront in order to decrease email opt-outs
- Spearheading plan for interest coding the database to support market segmentation/target marketing

Marketing Manager:
CBI is looking to hire a Marketing Manager to promote between 20-30 conferences a year to high level audiences. You will possesses a keen intellect and be able to grasp complex subjects and recognize trends. You will have a strong understanding of direct marketing strategies, can effectively evaluate a database marketing plan and can operate successfully within cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation, communication and writing skills along with the ability to analyze data from multiple sources within multiple subject areas.
As a Marketing Manager, you will need a BS/BA in Management, Marketing, Journalism or similar industry background with 3-5 years experience, preferably promoting business to business conferences in the conference industry. Solid e-mail and database marketing skills are a must; knowledge of the Bio/Pharmaceutical industry is helpful as is the use of social media as a component of promotional campaigns.

Inside Sales Representative

CBI is currently hiring an inside sales professional to generate new business opportunities in delegate/attendee sales for our conference offerings. You will be calling on high level executives to sell conference registrations to highly targeted corporate titles in the Life Sciences industry. If you are an engaging, dynamic sales professional that enjoys working the phones and being part of a growing team, this position is for you.
Requirements:
At least 2-3 years sales experience calling B2B, executive level prospects. Speed and agility through mastering the sales cycle including gatekeeper screening, overcoming objections and referral generation management is a must. This fast paced position is for a determined professional who is able to reach goals, meet deadlines, develop layered relationships within prospects accounts, manage/ improve leads in the CRM system, data mine existing customer base(s), and prepare accurate and insightful daily, weekly or monthly reports. You must have a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Windows XP and experience using the internet.

Operations Coordinator

CBI is hiring an Operations Coordinator to work and travel to an average of 25-30 conferences per year. In this role, you will successfully organize all program logistics, work with distinguished speakers, have a solid understanding of hotel food and beverage ordering, meeting room and audiovisual set ups, budgets and travel arrangements. You will negotiate with hotels both pre meeting and on site, produce financial reports, and carry out responsibilities with a high level of energy and customer service. You will travel to assigned conferences and be responsible for executing meetings successfully on site. In this key role, you will experience travel to some of our more notable locations for 2011: we are holding conferences in Dublin, Ireland, Lima, Peru and London, England; a valid passport and a love of travel is a key to this role!
The ideal candidate should have a four year degree or equivalent in business administration, administrative management, marketing or a related field, with one year of work experience in meeting planning, hospitality industry, and/or business setting in a position with a focus on customer service. Demonstrated organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities are necessary for success. You will have demonstrated ability to work within tight timeframes and on multiple projects. Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite is required.

Customer Service Representative
CBI is looking for a customer focused representative to support the company’s new and established conference attendees. The qualified candidate will be directly communicating with senior level executives from the Life Sciences Industry, that are interested in our events, have questions or are in need of registration support.
Job responsibilities include inbound call center customer relationship management, registration, as well as light financial administration. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must as well as basic MS Office knowledge (word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer). The successful candidate must have a professional and pleasant telephone manner, have customer empathy for problem solving, have strong attention to detail and the ability to multi task and change gears quickly and efficiently. They must be a team player and be able to interact with several different departments within the company.
