The Center for Business Intelligence announces The Forum on Pharmaceutical Risk Management
Woburn, MA - December 2, 2004 - The Center for Business Intelligence announces The Forum on Pharmaceutical Risk Management
The Center for Business Intelligence (CBI), in Association with REGISTRAT, will hold Forum on "Pharmaceutical Risk Management" on March 17-18, 2005 at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Philadelphia, PA
The biggest fear in the industry right now is product liability lawsuits. Due to the highly publicized events regarding drug withdrawals, companies need to implement risk management programs to have a better detection and adverse event reporting system in place in the clinical and post-marketing stages. Recently the FDA passed a draft guidance requiring drug companies to conduct additional post-marketing studies.
Industry leaders from Wyeth, Actelion Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Celegence, Organon, Biogen and many more, present industry perspectives and case studies regarding dynamics involved in risk management programs and how to successfully implement risk management during the product life cycle.
Topics of presentation include:
- Minimize the risk of adverse medical consequences upon product approval
- Implement successful risk management program that meets FDA approval
- Design risk management interventions that physicians will adopt
- Develop a proper risk/benefit analysis and present a strong case when the risk outweighs the benefit
- Detect early safety signals, prevent unnecessary risk and minimize exposure to product liability lawsuits
- Learn methods for evaluating success of risk management through cognitive testing, surveys, patient care databases and systems databases
- Hear a detailed description on AED pregnancy registry and how the results could be used in the clinical setting
- Address the need for pharmacovigilance and signal detection in order to keep pace with the evolving regulatory environment
