Shefali Kothari is Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation and US Country Head, Ethics, Risk & Compliance. Shefali is responsible for all compliance matters in the US business, and she has US country level responsibility for the compliance function across all Novartis US divisions. Shefali is a member of the US business Leadership Team and the Country Leadership Team.

Shefali joined Novartis Corporation in the US in 2011 as Senior Litigation Counsel and Deputy Compliance Officer. In 2014, she was appointed as Senior Pharmaceuticals Counsel to the US Pharmaceuticals business where she has held various roles of increasing responsibility in the Legal Department, including Head of Legal for Patient & Specialty Services and Head of Legal for Ethics, Risk and Compliance.

Prior to joining Novartis, Shefali was a senior associate at the global law firm Kaye Scholer LLP (now known as Arnold & Porter) based in New York City. She holds a juris doctorate from the UCLA School of Law in Los Angeles, CA and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Williams College in Williamstown, MA.
