Sustainability & DEI Initiatives at Pricing & Contracting USA

We are committed to having a positive impact on people and planet. We want to play a key role in helping the Bio/Pharma Industry improve its own sustainability by connecting people with the networks and knowledge they need to help solve the big challenges of the future.

We are proud to deliver you a sustainable event by launching several new initiatives noted below.

Digital Event Agenda

In lieu of distributing a printed agenda at the live event, we will deliver an environmentally-friendly digital agenda through our ConnectMe app.

Lanyards & Nametags

We will be using a TerraCycle Zero Waste Box to recycle used lanyards and nametags after the event.

Diversity & Inclusion

We want everyone to feel like they belong and for our communities to feel inspired and benefit from the diverse identities, innovation and ideas we showcase.

Renewable Energy

As a part of our continued commitment to the sustainability of this conference, we have switched to 100% renewable electricity for our event. This makes our electricity usage carbon neutral and significantly reduces the carbon footprint of our event.

Our 'Better Stands' Approach

Through our commitment to the evolution of the exhibitions industry, we aim to ensure that we are delivering the best possible experience for our customers. We believe that by moving away from the use of disposable exhibition booths we will improve the ease, quality, safety and sustainability of the exhibitor experience at our events. We aim to further minimize exhibition waste by removing carpet in our aisles, using digital signage options as much as possible or using eco cardboard. Finally, encouraging our exhibitors to minimize handouts by utilizing our digital download QR code technology at their booths.

Wellbeing

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can make a huge difference to your wellbeing and physical and mental performance, whether in the office, at home or at an event. We have incorporated wellbeing activities into the agenda, hydration stations and more.

An Accessible Event

We will have a mothers room, a gender neutral bathroom and a prayer room onsite, please ask for more information at registration. All session rooms are accessible via a ramp or elevator.

Waste Reduction

Our host hotel focuses on reducing excess by providing left over food to local food banks, donating hard goods to Habitat for Humanity, and placing water stations in each meeting rooms as an alternative to bottled water. Additionally, linen less break tables are provided for meetings and events, and food, beverage, and condiments are served in bulk whenever practical.

Energy Conservation

High-efficiency, CFL and LED lighting is utilized in guest rooms, lobby, and service areas. Energy efficient digital signage is also utilized across hotel. Occupancy sensors and light controls in meetings rooms limit light usage, and computerized control of the HVAC set points in the meeting rooms, corridors, and public areas provides for better building management.

Water Conservation

Low-flow showerheads and toilets, and aerator flow control faucets occupy more than 50% of guest room bathrooms to conserve water as well as automatic sink and toilet flush valves in our public restrooms. Our linen and towel reuse program and laundry water recycling program ensure water waste is reduced.

Environmentally Friendly

Ensuring the health of our guests and staff while preserving the environment is paramount. Our hotel has a 100% smoke free policy and utilizes biodegradable and environmentally friendly cleaning products throughout. Sustainable plants and florals, fair trade coffee options, and recycled paper products are used throughout while purchases of polystyrene have been eliminated.

Travel With a Purpose - Measured by Lightstay

Hilton Hotels & Resorts is committed to doubling our investment in social impact and cutting our environmental footprint in half by 2030. Our hotel is the proud recipient of: International Organization for Standardization (ISO) NEW ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Sustainability REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE • ISO 9001 - Quality Management certification • ISO 14001 - Environmental Management certification • ISO 50001 - Energy Management certification • TripAdvisor Green Leaders certification • Other State, Regional, or National Green Lodging Program certification

Oyster Recycling

In our efforts to replenish the oyster reefs and limit waste in landfills, we were able to recycle over 1.1 million pounds of oyster shells in the gulf of Mexico through the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. Additional hotel recycling includes cardboard, metal, wood pallets, office supplies, crates, batteries & light bulbs. eFolio sends electronic receipts instead of paper copies to guests.

From Farm to Table

Our Family Farm, only 75 miles away, provides us with over 200 pounds of produce a week. Our fresh field greens are shielded against bacterial growth and insects by utilizing preventative measures like soilless growing and controlled sunlight in a hydroponic greenhouse.

Sustainable Seafood

Local Red Fish from New Orleans Fish House: New Orleans Fish House, just 5 miles from the hotel, delivers local red fish backed by a certification of conservation that promotes healthy fisheries and ensures no hormones, antibiotics or mercury.

Preserving Our Planet

500 million straws are used and discarded every day in the United States alone, that’s over 182 trillion a year, filtering into landfills and littering our waterways and oceans. We wanted to do our part in eliminating plastic pollution by offering paper straws in lieu of plastic straws everywhere in our hotel. In addition, we provide linen rather than disposable napkins during meals.
